We are passionate about the beach, coastal living and the opportunity to share the lifestyle we love so much with our guests.
While cozy, at just under 700 square feet, the Avalon Beach Bungalow is one of the last remaining original Bungalows in our OBX housing stock. The bungalow is in an excellent location near restaurants, shopping, and about a half block walk to the beach, Avalon Fishing Pier and most OBX activities. The place was re-designed in 2017 with an open flow to provide our guests a modern coastal living experience all while maintaining its original 1950’s bungalow charm. Older beach bungalows, like this, come with some quirks, imperfections and possible extreme weather impacts. Please read the entire listing descriptions and “Other things to note” to ensure the Avalon Beach Bungalow is a fit for you and your group.
The space is ideal for:
• Couples
• Small active families or groups of friends
• 4 people comfortably, 5 people if ya’ll get along well
Guest Favorites:
From afternoon naps swaying in our hammocks in the front breezeway or chilling out and grilling in the backyard, here’s what our guests say they loved:
• The location – a short walk to the pier and beach
• The beach cart – to make the walk to the beach nice n easy!
• Grilling and a well-supplied kitchen
• Swaying in the hammocks in the front breezeway
• Dog Friendly (See Guidelines Below)
• A family friendly and safe neighborhood
The kitchen features a butcher’s block counter top, tile backsplash and the essential cooking tools for the chef of the group. At the right time and on the right days you can fully open up the french doors to connect the living space directly to the covered porch where you can rest and relax in the hammocks.
We have one bathroom inside – no tub – that features and a small glass-enclosed shower and a multi-use shower head. Most of our guests favorite place to shower is outside in the vintage masonry enclosed outdoor shower. This enclosure is very private and comes with a “rain shower” head that feels very refreshing on a hot summer days. In the winter months our guest can enjoy the warmth of the small wood burning stove that makes this time of year to visit more special!

To us, a very clean bungalow is of the utmost importance for our guests upon arrival. In fact, our bungalows have always had very high cleanliness standards and though cleaning + inspection process. Recently, we have taken our cleaning process to the next level by implementing recommended CDC guidelines. Between each guest stay our beach bungalows are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized with EPA approved disinfectants on surfaces and common touch points.
Pet Friendly Guidelines:

Property & Preference Disclaimer:
We love our OBX bungalow, its a great house yet, like most older homes it is not perfect, has some quirks and is certainly not for a fit every group. Our primary objective is to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests, so we hope you understand, if a significant weather event is forecasted during a reservation there may be an impact. For example, during significant rain and wind events, like coastal storms, extreme water accumulation can impact homes like this one, and though very rare, we may be forced to consider other accommodation options or cancel the reservation. We have found many guest visitors to the Outer Banks consider purchasing vacation rental travel insurance as additional protection and peace of mind.
We respect that folks have different preferences and worldviews. If your looking for a unique place and local experience in a great beach town to relax, spend time with loved ones, chill out, cook and rest your head after the beach then the bungalow checks all the boxes. If your seeking a perfect, flawless home or are super high maintenance, this is not the place for you.
Book today to ensure your reservation, before another guest does! 🙂
Check Out Etiquette: We put a lot of time and effort to deliver great stays for our guests. If we find deliberate damage, disrespect or lack of basic cleanliness during the check out inspection, fee’s will be charged to compensate our cleaners and ensure the property is ready for guests.
