The Magical Bungalow OBX is an original OBX ‘Beach Box’ style home, that was re-imagined and renovated by Live Swell Custom Homes in 2019.

(Please keep in mind, the house is located on a direct beach access with parking, at times it can get full. Most love the feel, others may not.)
Downstairs “Storage Room”-
The space is located on ground level, has a separate entrance and is not as upgraded like the upper level main living area. It was not designed as living space, is primarily used as storage and sleeping is not recommended.
Please note: While renovated, this is an older original beach home. As a piece of OBX history, that’s OK though as it all adds to the charm and soul of the Magical Bungalow.

Housekeeping Notes:
To us, a very clean bungalow is of the utmost importance for our guests upon arrival. In fact, our bungalows have very high cleanliness standards and a thorough cleaning + inspection process. Between each guest stay our beach bungalows are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized with EPA approved disinfectants on surfaces and common touch points.
Our cleaning process continues to evolve by implementing recommended CDC guidelines. Further, we take additional steps and train cleaners in any new cleaning standards through our “Sparkling Clean” training program.
Pet Friendly Guidelines:
•$25 per night for one dog (one dog maximum only)
• Some breeds may not be permitted due to insurance requirements
• Fee will be requested via AirBnB after your reservation is confirmed
We love dogs and are happy to have your four legged family members at our bungalows. Just let us know you are bringing your dog and the breed.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home and property. For those, that enjoy clean laundry, like us, we have a quality washer + dryer set up in the downstairs storage area.
Other things to note
Check Out Etiquette: We put a lot of time and effort to deliver great stays for our guests. If deliberate damage, disrespect or lack of cleanliness is identified during the check out inspection, the guest of record will be charged fees to compensate our cleaners and ensure the property is ready for incoming guests.

Neighborhood highlights
The property is located in the Virginia Dare Shores subdivision “between the highways” of Kill Devil Hills, one of the first subdivisions platted on the northern Outer Banks around 1927. We are 5 lots back form the beach on a rare street with some of the ONLY public street parking in KDH.
It is about a 50 yard walk to Hayman Public Beach Access. It is a unique beach access with extra parking throughout the street, which during the high season can create a vibrant busy energy to the area. Most guests love it, but it is something to keep in mind for those looking for a quiet beach access during Summer months. It is possible to walk to many restaurants, the Avalon Pier and stores.
The neighborhood is a mix of vacationers, folks with second homes and full time residents.
During the right times of the year, sea turtles do nest in the beach out front, you can find large shells (like Whelks) and the surfing in the area can be epic at times! The OBX is known as the east coast “Wave Magnet.”
The sunset on the Sound side can be awesome and Hayman Park is just on the other side of Croatan Highway.

We are located close to restaurants, shopping, the Avalon Fishing Pier and most activities.
