So, you’re on a surf vacation, and mother nature has decided to flatten out the waves and kill your surfing high. It happens to the best of us. Sure, you went on this adventure to surf, but there are probably a few other things you can do to enjoy your surf vacation even if you’re not actually surfing.

1. Suit up. Stand on the beach with your board under your arm. Stare at the water as if you are telepathically willing waves to start breaking. Complain about how flat it is.

2. Go for a run or a bike ride along the beach. Take in the beauty of the water, weather, and wildlife. Notice things you don’t normally give much attention to. Complain about how flat it is.

3. Find a yoga studio or do your own yoga flow on the beach. Meditate and find your calm. Refrain from complaining about how flat it is.

4. Rent or borrow a stand up paddle board and go out on that flat water. Revel in how amazingly flat it is and how much fun you’re having.

5. Grab some take out or make a portable meal and eat it on a blanket on the beach with your surf vacation friends or family. Stare at the water as if you are telepathically willing waves to start breaking. Complain about how flat it is.
