In the last part of this Surf Bum series, we discussed the opportunities that exist today to not simply just live a surf bum lifestyle….but afford to be a surf bum.  There is a big difference, I think you agree.  If you missed the first part check it out here To People that Want Freedom like a Beach Bum Without Being Broke: Part 1.

If you could control your time better and feel you would spend more of it traveling and surfing, this may be for you.

In Surf Bum Part 1 we  have discussed ways that are available to put your lesser used resouces to work, the physical ones, like monetizing from lesser used space or renting a surf board or other gear to visiting folks. Well maybe you don’t have any of those available yet. No worries, you likely have a skill or knowledge that could be a real value to someone. This is happening in most service industries already, one example is Chef’s with excellent skills in culinary arts but lacking a restaurant and the financial resouces and business know how to open one.   These micro-entreprenuer chefs promote their services online and fulfill them to cliente offline.  So, lets apply the concept to the surf travel industry…..

Would you likely have a better surf travel experience with local know how or not?  Enter “Personalized Surf Tours

I believe most would find that they would benefit from tapping into the knowledge and resources of a local who may have some lesser known tips that would add value to a time-limited surf trip.  Ask my good friend Jeremey about the contact and the relationship he made with a local in Playa Grande, Guancaste, Costa Rica.  He got dialed right in to the right spots, felt more safe with his new friend, saved time and had a better overall experience than simply trying to figure it out.  Don’t get us wrong, exploration is part of the fun, and we do it all the time.  The opportunity can help us simply accelerate the experience and have a more impactful experience.

So how well do you know your area? Can you provide an experience to like-minded folks that would elevate the experience? You probably can if you love where you live.

So naturally the next question is; How do we take the online connection off?  Live Swell is creating a community of like-minded people who are passionate about traveling, surfing and living life.  This platform will provide surfers worldwide from the best surf towns and best surf breaks to connect, develop a personal connect and elevate the surf travel experience.

The power is in the community, can you contribute?
