Winter pounds and spare tire setting in? Your not alone, many people plump up a bit in the winter season for good reason: stay warm right? Probably not. So how can you avoid the spring trim and be in beach body shape? Well, there are lots of good methods, stay committed to a gym, do insanity workouts, have an accountability partner or embark on a surfing vacation.

I prefer to get results in a short time period, and while I personally have had ebbs and flows in my body weight, and have been committed to cutting the fat when needed, I asked myself a question on my last surfing vacation in Costa Rica and Nicaragua…. Why do I consistently trim up and get more defined on a surf trip?

Up early morn for a session, a clean feed after for breakfast, a mid-day snooze, sunset session, another clean dinner feed…. Day after day for a week, will trim Fat Albert up in a jiffy. Can you imagine the transformation over the course of 3-4 weeks? Not everyone has that opportunity (or creates it for themselves), so a week – ten days will do just fine. The formula is simple: exercise (surf 2x or at least once per day, and take advantage of the local fresh cuisine). No fancy pills, steroids, hydroxycut or sonic the hedgehog (guido) haircuts needed here.

We all have decision to make, personal and professional goals to hit. A surfing vacation may be just what you need to trim the fat, tighten up your game, relax mentally.

Getting very popular recently, especially with the girls, is combining Yoga and a surfing vacation….that’s double dipping and the results surely show.
